Sometimes, the spontaneous moments in life, are the ones lodged in our memories forever.
As was definitely this whole weekend!
Pete had some work in Queensland and asked if we wanted to go with him, so we packed and left the same day! Stressful, but I’m getting used to it! Haha!
12 hours later we arrived on the beautiful Gold Coast where we were lucky enough to stay right on the beach.
Here is a time lapse we took out the window…All Day!!! I can’t find the sunrise section of the video though 🙁 If I find it, I will edit the video and update 😀
Some of my favourite things in the video are:
- Sunset and how it made everything glow
- Our family in the pool, eating by the pool then going to the beach
- Walking the kids round and round and round the kiddy pool
- Our family pose (we stood there for ages!)
- The clouds going opposite ways in the sky
I’ve seriously missed the Queensland beaches, since moving to New South Wales. NSW beaches are still beautiful, but the water currents make it too freezing! (For me anyway! Honestly, who wants to swim in Antarctica’s leftover water?)
So hellooo Queensland!
Between the cold water in NSW and having twins, I haven’t been for a proper swim (past where the waves break) for years. So this was heaven!
Perhaps I should become a wave photographer….
As for the kids, we really need to expose them to swimming lessons and the beach this summer. Wally loved it instantly, but Tori was quite wary. Actually she was quite distraught! Hence she sat on Pete’s lap the entire time.
I’m putting this post up late, but we have since taken them both to the beach a few more times and she is getting so much better. She even suggests going to the beach now! I was worried that this first trip of the year would scar her for the rest of her life and make her hate the beach, so I’m glad we persisted and made the effort to show her it is a fun place! Phew!
They both loved collecting shells, rocks and flowers!
There’s my little family!
Tori’s warming up to it all…Wally in his element! Funny thing is Tori is more confident in the pool than Wallyl!
And then it was goodbye to the Gold Coast and hello to Stradbroke Island.
Stay tuned for the Stradbroke Island post coming up next! xxx

P.S. Timelapse music by me 😀
