Introducing my favourite boots of the year!
So, up until this year, I have always thought I didn’t suit low boots or ankle boots as I have rather large calves. (Often I can only just squeeze them into knee high boots!) So I gave up and just thought that the trend was not for me. ?
I then thought I’d pluck up the courage to give it another go, and lo and behold, I found that the ‘sock boot’ actually suited me quite well. To me, it accentuates the ankle, which draws the attention away from the calf. Wohoo! I found some that I loved for $200 at the Shopping Centre, and I thought I could do better online (Aaahhh…it’s the way the world is headed I’m afraid!) So I ordered three pairs from The Iconic, to try on at my leisure in my own home and decide which one/s to keep. These are the ones I tried…
Firstly the Lyra is a great boot at a lower price point. They are made of lycra and achieve the same look as the other boots!
Secondly the Octavia boots are my favourites and the ones that I kept. I prefer their suede like fabric to the lycra of the Lyra boots and for an extra $30, I thought they looked nicer too. They were pretty much exactly the same as the $200 pair I tried on at the shops! Win!
And lastly I tried the Evita. I actually thought that these would be the ones I would keep, however once I had them on, I realized they weren’t as versatile as the solid heel. They are exactly the same as the Octavia, except for the transparant heel. These I would only wear at night and with glam outfits. I don’t feel that they could pull off the arty or boho look lol! Whereas the Octavia could transition all those styles, glam, arty and boho! I also feel that these will date a lot quicker than the Octavia. But if you want a few, then these are a gorgeous pair to add to your collection!
So here are the Octavias in real life….
I have worn them so many times and I really love them! To me, they are as comfy as a heel can be, super stylish, and they keep your feet nice and toasty! Best purchase of the season!
Thanks for reading!
